Last monday (the 17th) my doughter Norah became six months old. Because this weekend is Easter my wife took some weird pictures of Norah.

Unixing Windows

Thursday, March 20th, 2008

I have been programming on Windows for a while and since Linux is my favourite OS I have been trying to make Windows operate more like Linux. Cygwin is the most used tool for people that are in my position but personally I don’t like it.
After much searching I found UnxTools, this is a modified version of the tools that are found in Cygwin but without the Cygwin libraries making it much faster.
The next thing I replaced was the console; I was missing my GNOME terminal! On SourceForge I found Console. Console is a simple wrapper written in C# that enhances your normal cmd.exe (If you can call it normal :D).
Console supports multiple tabs and the key bindings are customizable so it now operates as my GNOME terminal :D.
